Currently, CloudStick issues its own self-signed certificate for the FTP service, which includes pre-filled and often unattractive information within the certificate itself. This can result in an unprofessional appearance and potential trust issues for end-users accessing the FTP service.
Suggested Fix:
Provide users with the ability to reissue the self-signed certificate to match the serverβs hostname.
Enable users to input custom certificate details, such as the organization name, town, country, and other relevant information. This customization will ensure the certificate better reflects the user's brand and organizational identity.
Implement an option for users to automatically issue a Let's Encrypt certificate for the FTP service. This would simplify the process of obtaining a trusted certificate, enhancing security and trust without manual intervention.
Offer a tool that allows users to generate a CSR directly within CloudStick. This CSR can then be used to obtain a commercial certificate from a third-party Certificate Authority (CA). Users can upload the issued certificate back into CloudStick to replace the default self-signed certificate.
